SEO Technology - Day #6

By Clive | September 29, 2007

Quotation for the day [by Anon]:

” Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

Today we’ll go back to some of those sites we set up in Days #1 to #5. Where appropriate add some extra content (e.g. another module in your Squidoo page, another post on a micro-blog etc.) but also…..

For Social Bookmarking sites:

Example: Go to Digg.com, login, type in your KWP into the Search Box and find other posts on that phrase (not yours) and ‘comment’ putting your html ink on a couple of the posts that come up! Make sure your comment is sensible and pertinent and fits into that post. Spam and you’ll get your account closed!

Take a few extra seconds to do it right and, voila, your comment is indexed in the search engines for your KWP. Plus commenting raises your importance to Digg.

gunducky.jpgThis is all about being in the ‘conversation’ for your KPW. Maybe link to your Squidoo lens instead - up to you but mix it up as you go!

So do that wherever you can, when asked to comment do so (as long as you can get your html link in there!

As you start dominatiing this corner of the www pond you are becoming an ‘Authority Figure’ for this niche and certainly this KWP!

While it won’t be apparent to the casual observer looking at the first few pages of search engine results for that KWP the majority of them will be your Web 2.0 satellite sites.

For Stand alone pages and Micro Blogs:

All of those sites - Squidoo, WetPaint etc. that you’ve set up have RSS feeds. Make a note of them in your text.doc

Now go to Pingoat.com and ‘Ping’ those RSS feeds to the RSS aggregators (the search engines use them as a source of ‘current’ information). When you get to Pingoat scroll down past the e-mail request, you don’t need to register. Get your KWP in the ‘Blog Name’ box!

An alternative ‘Pinger’ is ping-o-matic, do you have another? Let me know via comments.

Here’s a list of more RSS sites that you can submit to

Are you starting to see that this just ‘might’ be a viable adventure that we’re embarked upon? Well it’s going to get better…..

Now let’s look at those Videos and Podcasts we’ve uploaded…..

Go the page of your video or podcast on whatever url and OnlyWire it (remember we did that OnlyWire thing on Day #1?) Did you remember to drag the Onlywire widget into the Bookmark Toolbar of your browser then as I suggested? If not do it now. You’ve now bookmarked those satellite pages to all those bookmarking services contacted by Onlywire. Do the same for you Squidoo and micro blogs too.

Post your KWP text on some Google Groups and Yahoo Groups too. If you’ve already created your own KWP groups add to them.

As I was testing the Webel Way I found that I often prefered to ‘ping’ those RRS sites as soon as I had created a Squidoo lens, or any micro-blog etc. that has a RSS feed.

At the same time I’d Onlywire it too. Nothing’s etched in stone here folks so do what you are most comfortable with.
