Web 2.0 Marketing - Lite!

By Clive | December 10, 2007

I’ve been somewhat slow getting back to you with this 7 day treatment as I changed horses mid stream! Yes that’s me folks - I got silly on my choice of KWP (Keyword Phrase) and by day 3/4 I realised I’d gotten above myself, was being too ambitious, and so I just stopped that campaign as I could see it wasn’t going well and wasn’t going to pay me much.

I may well post details as to where I went wrong at a later date. For the Webel Way to work, I reckon, you need a KWP that is up against, say, 250,000 results for the broad key phrase. That’s not hard. (I prefer a 3 word KWP to a 2 word one but that’s up to you).

As I think I’ve said before I’m WEAK! I try something, see that it works, and then ‘finesse’ it ’til it doesn’t work anymore!

But I’m learning! I’ve never pretended to be anything other than an explorer of Web 2.0 but as Howard Carter is alleged to have said when asked what he could see (he’d just chiseled a hole into what was soon to be known as ‘Tutankhamun’s Tomb‘):

” I see wondrous things.”

The Good News is that the new 7 day plan will be ‘done and dusted’ in the next couple of days and you’ll be able to see the complete results (other than my KWP and earnings, thank you very much!) before Christmas.

What I hope will excite you, dear reader, is that this time not only have I tracked rankings in Google/Yahoo and MSN but also I can, and will, tell you which Web2.0 site each ranking relates to!

If you’ve been a disciple of Bending The Web, Conversation Domination (or my humble blog) etc. I know that you’ll appreciate the value of that information. What works (fast) and what doesn’t.

As a ‘teaser’ here’s a quick summary on my Day #5 Google check for a KWP getting 270 searches per day ( and little competition for a product paying out over $150 per sale):

Page #1 - #7,#8,#9,#10

Page #2 - #12,#14,#15,#16,#17,#18,#19,#20 (People, I OWN this page!)

If I didn’t have your attention already I’m sure I have it now! :-D

[By the way I'm only tracking the top #30 rankings for each engine now, as opposed to the top #50 I did earlier.]

If you haven’t subscribed to the RSS Feed or the E-mail option (top right) I suggest you do so as my next post will give you all the goodies :-D just in time for Christmas. There are some BIG surprises in there!

I’ll be getting back to you soon,

See you on pages #1, #2 and #3 in 2008!

Merry, merry,

Waiting patiently. (biting nails, edge of seat)

This is such a great site, I really enjoy your straight forward approach and these techniques work like a dream!

Hi Camilla, it’s been quite a while since a lady last hung on my every word :-)

Great info as always Clive, looking forward to the next update especially when you’ll tell us what website each ranking relates to.

    Clive,

Let me tell you. Your system does work for highly competitive keywords as well.

My example - I am in a highly competitive niche, for example I am paid $1.00 on average for one google adsense click! Before applying the Webel methods (I was just using a blog and a couple web 2.0 sites) I was ranking number one for a very specific three word keyword phrase in Google and doing OK. I wasn’t even listed in yahoo. NOW I am number one for that same keyword phrase in Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, etc, etc and I am on the first page for a couple two word keyword phrases which are even more competitive, taking the number three spot to the number 10 spot on most of the search engines! Now all the web 2.0 sites are not listed in those spots or even in the other pages but my main page that is linked to by all those web 2.0 webel sites has been cranked to the front page! I have doubled my income from Google Adsense alone! I also now have an ebook I am promoting from clickbank and in the first two weeks made another $100 in sales from a $16.00 commission!

The webel system does work for those you just need a little faith. I will admit that it does not work as well for dominating all the listings but it certainly will bring a main page rank way up!

    Hey Daniel,

    1) Great to hear you are experiencing groovy results

    2) I should make it clear that this is not MY system as such. It’s just my personal take on what was first mooted by Jack Humphries and Howie Schwartz. More power to them for bringing it to my attention!

I’m just trucking along in my own little way as I see/saw the potential. Maybe I’m coming up with new stuff as I go, I don’t know.

Can anyone on Howie’s $1200 p.a. membership site tell me where I’m going wrong? That’d be great :-D

    3) It’s interesting to hear about your experience (re high value KWP) and, once I’ve finished collating all the input from my last campaign (coming to you shortly), I am going to attempt a ‘WEBEL KWIK HIT’ on a high paying KWP to see what’s possible.

Regulars of the Webel Way will know that, while getting long term, solid links to your money site are not a problem it’s the ‘quick hit’ aspect that can make you money fast.

And of course I will let you know what’s what with the ‘WEBEL KWIK HIT’ as and when I instigate it.

As I go on and see my results and revenue increasing I recognise that this info I’m experimenting with, and sharing with you, is ‘diamond dust’.

In future, I will probably e-mail the results to you rather than post here for the world and his/her Mum to see.

The fact is that this is info that should not be shared on a worldwide basis :-D

For a long time I always felt I was one step behind on the web. You know what I mean, getting on board too late!

Nice to be on the cutting edge for a change isn’t it?
